Farm to Fork 2026

Josh Payne, owner of Rusted Plowshare Farm, farms with his family in Concordia Missouri, where they have transitioned a traditional corn and soy operation into a regenerative sheep and cattle enterprise. Their shift began with cover cropping commodity acres and evolved into managed grazing systems that support both wholesale and direct marketing. Livestock are grass finished on a diverse mix of annuals, perennial cool season pastures, native warm season grasses, and microgreens grown on farm. The family also manages 30 acres of chestnuts, which produced their first marketable harvest this year, and is implementing silvopasture practices across every pasture.
