Join us for Unlocking Economic Development Tools to Fund Child Care Facilities, a panel discussion exploring practical ways Missouri communities can approach child care as workforce infrastructure and bring together financing, partnerships, and local economic development tools to increase child care capacity.
The discussion is based on the new Childcare as Workforce Infrastructure guide, developed for local governments, economic development professionals, nonprofits, and other stakeholders exploring ways to fund early childhood education facilities.
The guide explores tools including Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Community Improvement Districts (CID), Neighborhood Improvement Districts (NID), Chapter 100 and Chapter 353 authorities, Enhanced Enterprise Zones, mission-driven capital, philanthropy, public-private partnerships, and other resources that can play a role in child care development.
Panelists will help explain these tools, discuss how they can work together, and answer participant questions about applying the ideas in Missouri communities. The guide emphasizes that successful child care projects rarely depend on one funding source. Instead, communities can bring together local leadership, employers, child care businesses, nonprofits, lenders, public agencies, and other partners to create solutions that fit local needs.
